One Nation Indivisible?

Is the United States on the brink of being disunited?

Decentralization has become somewhat of a buzzword in our society.

America seems more divided than ever. Identity politics has been championed by those on the Left as well as celebrities and the mainstream media. And now, with the upcoming election and the fears that come with it.

Many Americans think we're on the brink of a civil war

According to Ryan McMaken, the media is pushing for secession:

On September 18, for example, Steve Chapman in the Chicago Tribune asked: “Can the United States survive this election?” For the past century, the answer given by most any mainstream journalist would have been a decisive yes. The usual narrative has long been this: “Of course America will endure for centuries to come! We Americans are masters of compromise. We’ll all soon realize we are all in this together and come together in unity!

But now, Steve Chapman and others are bringing up the fact that the United States almost broke apart many times including in actuality during the Civil war from 1861-1865.

And they're right. The founding fathers envisioned the United States being more of a loose confederation of states whose primary duty to the nation was in foreign policy.

As I've taken an interest in reading stories of people who tried to create their own republics, I wonder what would happen if we readopted the founders' vision for a decentralized nation?

I think we could find a way to make it work now. But there would be plenty of Americans that wouldn't be on board with it. The disagreements themselves might start a civil war! Maybe we could try something like seasteading?

And would it make us weak to the point that we would be vulnerable to attack from a foreign nation?

What do you think?

In a way, the fact that we have to manage ourselves and the relationships around us make us function somewhat like a government.

That's why we need to consider our actions and how they affect other people.

We're all made in the image of God. Every single one of us. God created humans to be good stewards of the earth.

Consider the mandate God gave to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28:

God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.”

God wanted us as humans to spread out and discover all the possibilities the earth had to offer and then to draw it out. It's just like farming. Finding a good piece of land and cultivating it to the Glory of God.

The bible project has a great video on this:

While sin has marred us, the mandate remains. And Jesus calls us through His life, death, and ultimate victory over sin to become true humans once again!

Think about the areas in your life that you manage. Your job, your family, your house, etc.

Take a look at yourself and the things that you manage. How can they improve? How can you improve?

Think of yourself as a ruler who has been entrusted with these things. And seek to rule benevolently as a representative of the Creator!

Until next time!

Cryptocurrency is decentralized. I realize that everyone probably knows that but Brave has a neat cryptocurrency and an awesome browser to go with it and it’s completely FREE!

I've been using a browser called Brave for a while now and it's amazing. These guys are meticulous about privacy and they hate ads as much as you and I do. The Brave browser gives you the ability to control the ads that you want to see and block the ones you don't. And because they block so many automatically, it's one of the fastest browsers out there!

They also have their own crypto called Basic Attention Token. You can earn these for free for viewing ads that you want to view. This is their Brave Rewards program. It's basically free money!
